There exists a significant lapse in the construction industry when it comes to information transfer between field and office. site-i-sight™ was created to help many developers, contractors and A/E firms bridge this gap. Much of site-i-sight™’s success can be attributed to the solid scientific research it is founded on. Ziad Kassis, co-founder and president of site-i-sight™, has studied the effects of installing web-enabled cameras on a jobsites. The Hawthorne effect, expectancy theory and behavior-based safety mean very little without feedback. Research shows that providing visually rich feedback to workers can significantly improve communication on a project. A high-quality camera that streams and archives images is central to providing such feedback. A commercial application was identified and site-i-sight™ was born.
